Trivitt Auditorium, 264 Main St S, Exeter, Ontario

$20 tickets for GAIA and Jazz

Jazz trumpeter Andrew McAnsh brings along six colleagues for an evening of jazz and stories about capturing, composing and presenting this distinctive score. While the jazz interprets how First Nations were geographically impacted by each Lake, dramatic dance and vocal interpretations enrich the music.

This special presentation adds up to… one talented young Ontario composer; two more outstanding interpretive performers; three musical surprises; four further swingers in the McAnsh Quintet; five distinct passages for Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario. If you love jazz… if you appreciate the joys of living within GAIA’s greatest fresh watershed… if you simply want a unique evening of modern energy… then you shouldn’t miss this one performance of Jazz of the Great Lakes.

Joining Andrew McAnsh (trumpet, composer, leader) in his Quintet will be Jonathan Chapman (acoustic bass), Rob Christian (sax & flute), Andrew Marzotto (guitar) and Ian Wright (drums). Also featured will be Cotee Harper, noted Indigenous contemporary dancer.

This performance is generously supported by The Bayley Group, Cass & Adrian Bayley.
